Greta Thunberg, the soft-spoken Swedish teenager who became an international conscience for environment modification and ecological activism, was called Time magazine’s individual of the season for 2019.
The mag announced the 16-year-old as the option exclusively on the «TODAY» show wednesday.
«She became the largest vocals regarding the biggest problem dealing with the earth this current year, originating from really nowhere to lead an internationally motion, » Time editor-in-chief Edward Felsenthal told the show, incorporating that Thunberg may be the mag’s youngest option ever to be called individual of the season.
Thunberg quickly bloomed into one of several planet’s many notable environment modification activists, sparking a collective motion to battle the problem after protesting alone away from Swedish Parliament during college hours on Fridays whenever she had been 15.
